Beryist Society is a Discord server which started out as a Polcompball splinter and is now largely an autonomous community.
For a long time following the collapse of the Polcompball Forums server, it was Polcompball's most active server. It is the oldest PCB or PCB-adjacent server that is still in use.
Etymology[edit source]
The name of the server is derived from an old inside joke dating back to early 2022 PCBF. Users would post chaotic videos typically from dystopian films and simply caption them "Beryist Society", joking that Bery is a totalitarian (when he was actually a liberal).
The Founding[edit source]
It was founded on the 8th of July 2022 by BeryAb (Bery), JonahF2014 and Duke Atom/Ejoron (Aaron). The exact reasons for its foundation vary, but it is commonly accepted that people desired a less toxic and alienating alternative to the Polcompball Miraheze server.
