Wikiball is a Countryball community about wikis. It is similiar to Wiki Wiki, but it's with Countryballs. It was hosted on Fandom, but it was moved to Miraheze.

History

Beginning (May 12, 2018 - July 2018)

Wiki was started by Russian Polandball Wiki user Barash125. First article was about Russian Polandball Wiki. Only this article existed and there was no other activity.

Encyclopedic Development

On June 2018, the owner created some other articles and invited Germany Deutschland user. On the next day, the rules was formed. On June 3rd, 2018 the icons were created. Then the number of articles and users started to increase. On June 4th, 2018, the first raid happened. Destroy WikiBall wiki user started to vandalize almost every unprotected page, expect Users of Polandball. The owner quickly noticed that and banned him. On June 10th, the user Krosh Lover appeared.

Fall of Activity

In around June 2018, the Germany Deutschland and Asasyl edited articles less time and they finally left the wiki. In the short time, Asasyl came back for while, but after that they left, including the owner. The wiki has been not in development until August. This peroid was called Great Crisis.

Great Crisis (July 2018 - December 2018)

Stagnation

In July 2018, there was no activity as whole. From time to time someone would edit, but it wasn't significant.

Edit Warring

On August 2018, the owner came back. He started to remove the inactive statuses. It was affilated with Russian Polandball Wiki, but still it wasn't very active.

For this reason, Voldemera started an edit warring with Renat546 in Russian Polandball Wiki page marking with "Master Enethrel, I've said it all! Don't hit me, pleaseeeee". Voldemera was supported by Carych and Renat546 by YarigHood. The owner wanted to retain the neutrality, but he was aligned with Voldemera side. And lately the owner banned Voldemera and Renat546 because of edit warring for 3 days. And in the request of YarigHood, Carych has been removed from his function.

Lately, the owner announced the emergency state and it happened until December 2018. At this time, he removed all the administrators and started to rewrite of the articles.

YarigHood promotion

In the post of the emergency state announcment, YarigHood promised in the comments that he wanted to improve the articles. Barash125 believed him and gave him the administrator.

In his first days, he didn't stand out too much in activity, but lately he was reprojecting the wiki. He redesigned the most of the current design: colors (blue and white); graphics (background); restructurization and templates (navboxes and infoboxes).

Friendly conflict

Lion-Turtle suggested that there would be an category for Commonwealth that includes protected articles, but YarigHood disagreed with that.

Lately, Lion-Turtle asked Barash125 about adding protected pages to Commonwealth category. Rairakkumee and Unonymous!Chara standed for Lion-Turtle.

Finally, the Lion-Turtle proposal has won, even if it was opposed by mods.

Sub-Countryball Union, or "entering into the abyss"

YarigHood suggested to Barash125 to partner with Users of Polandball Wiki and they agreed. On referendum it was named "Sub-Countryball Union". On October 25, 2018 it was founded. The rules were adapted to Wikiball.

At the same time, Barash125 appointed Супер-пупер палеонтолог as the administrator.

Lately, the everything changed into absurd: Barash125 decided that he would unite wikis even without YarigHood's permission. He started to move contents from Users of Polandball Wiki to Wikiball, making him a dictator.

And he sent the ultimatum to YarigHood: deleting the wiki, or he would destroy the wiki.

The fall of the Dictatorship

The conflict slowly caused the Barash125 to be abolished.

Lately, the Barash125 was banned globally because of insulting the Shararam Wiki. So YarigHood started to own wiki. Immediately after that, he called the new administrators: Spyro W (F-OM) and Korgnelius. It is noteworthy that the first attempt failed due to an error in setting the qualifications, and new elections had to be held.

Stagnation (2019-)

Beginnings

Starting from 2019, YarigHood was slowly in retirement and Spyro wasn't active as well knowing that the goals of clearing from plagiarism have been fulfilled. It was affilated with Revolutionary Squadron, which demanded to destablish the wiki. It was many time deleted by Fandom and many articles were lost.

Also because of the conflict, YarigHood resigned from being bureaucrat and it was neccesary to hire the new one. The Revolutionary Squadron hired new ones, but they had resistance against the Wikiball staff and members. So they finally decided that Korgnelius and Spyro will be both bureaucrats. Soon after, the new moderator Mapmaker Lich replaced the inactive Dahlia. He started to recategorize pages.

Closing

Even after the restructurization and contest done by Mapmaker Lich, still the wiki wasn't very active. But in Fall 2019, the new users didn't joined.

On October 2020, Mapmaker Lich became an bureaucrat in wiki.

On around August 2021, the wiki was closed down.

Miraheze

On around August 2022, the Miraheze was opened and maintained by Викикот and Spanish Fan. It was approved by MapmakerLich, but the discord and wiki got separated.

Negotations

The membership of Wikiball was planned during Ballmedia, but after the integration and focusing on Slavic representation, the topic was resumed.

On September 9th, 2024, DualPlay joined the Discord server from the archive.ph snapshot. The Discord link became published into List of Discord servers. Day later DualPlay was negotating with MapmakerLich and Taxcymus joined after. Mainly the owner allowed that the content can be moved from Wikiball to GCO Wiki.
